Jammu, June 09 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), a court framed charges against seven youth under draconian law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Third Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, Sunit Gupta, farmed charges against the youth identified as Bashir Ahmed, Wali Muhammad, Ghulam Nabi, Muhammad Ramzan, Saddam Hussain, Khizar Muhammad and Muhammad Hassan. They were arrested on January 02, 2020, by SHO Police Station Dachhan in Jammu region.
While framing the charges, third Additional Sessions Judge Jammu (Special Judge under section 22 of NIA ACT) Sunit Gupta also expressed his reservations and anguish at the quality of investigation into the case.
The Judge expressed his dissatisfaction against the investigating officer of the case, terming the investigation being conducted in a very perfunctory and unprofessional manner. “The quality of the investigation does nowhere speak about the fact that the investigation in the present case has been conducted by a Gazetted officer with the rank of Deputy Superintendant of Police. From the perusal of the file, it reveals that initially at the time of registration of the FIR, number of persons have been roped in the present case but during the investigation, the Investigating Officer Sunny Gupta, Dy SP (HQ) Kishtwar, conducted the investigation in such a lethargic and sluggish manner that he had not taken even a little pain to search for the evidence in the present case.”
Therefore, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone is hereby directed to conduct a departmental enquiry against the aforesaid delinquent police officer namely Sunny Gupta, Dy SP, who has not done his job in an honest and able manner, the Judge added.
