Protest demo in front of UN office against Operation Blue Star

New York, June 07 (KMS): All panthic organizations and the children, who participated in art/drawing competition, held a protest demonstration in front of the UN Office against Indian Armed Forces attack on Golden Temple.

It was in June, 1984, Indian army attacked the Sikh holiest place, Golden Temple, and massacred thousands of Sikhs including their spiritual leader Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale. The army reduced the Sikhs’ holiest shrine to rubble.

The demonstrators on the occasion were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans like “Never forget 1984,” “The only solution is Khalistan” and raised high-pitched anti-India and pro-Khalistan slogans.

Sikhs in India and across the world observed the 37th anniversary of the Operation Blue Star with renewed pledge that they would continue their struggle for Khalistan, through thick and thin.

According to Kashmir Media Service, pro-Khalistan banners and posters were displayed in Punjab and elsewhere in India in favour of the separate homeland for the Sikhs and against the massacre of the community and desecration of the Sikh holiest place Golden Temple by Indian Army in Amritsar on this day in 1984.
