Srinagar, June 07 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and religious scholar, Sarjan Barkati has said that Kashmir dispute is an issue of political future of millions of Kashmiri people and the world community should intervene for its settlement as per UN resolutions.
Sarjan Barkati in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the displacement of Kashmiris, especially Gujjar Bakarwal community from their lands. He added that the people of Kashmir would never surrender before Indian cruelty and would continue their struggle till taking it to its logical conclusion.
Sarjan Barkati said that India wanted to push Kashmiris to the wall and change the demography of IIOJK by settling Hindu extremists and non-Kashmiris there, which would further deteriorate the situation in the occupied territory.
He also expressed concern over the Indian conspiracies to set up Pandit and soldier colonies in IIOJK and making Jammu a separate province, Kashmir valley a union territory and merging South Kashmir into it. He also condemned Indian oppression, massacre, arrests and other brutal tactics in the territory and urged the world community to help stop Indian state terrorism in IIOJK.
Sarjan Barkati said that people in the territory were committing suicides due to poverty. He added that on one hand, the authorities had implemented lockdown in the name of coronavirus and people are not allowed to offer prayers in mosques while, on the other, 4 lakh Hindu Yatris had been allowed to visit the territory without Corona SOP and vaccination.
The Hurriyat leader appealed to the World Health Organization to take strict action against the India’s inhuman attitude of and impose restrictions on it.
