Concern expressed over growing Indian atrocities in IIOJK
Islamabad, May 03 (KMS): A meeting of the constituents of Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement Forum was held, today, in Islamabad under the chairmanship of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) Convener, Muhammad Hussain Khateeb.
Vice Chairman and Convener of Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Peace Foundation, Mehmood Akhtar Qureshi Advocate, Convener of Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Civil Society, Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar and Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement, Ayaz Ahmad Zargar and the Convener of Pir Panjal Peoples Movement, Muhammad Lateef Lone participated in the meeting.
The meeting expressed concern over the growing Indian atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as well as the deliberate indifference of the Indian administration to the spread of COVID-19 and the relentless massacre of youth in the territory by the Indian troops in fake encounters. Concerns were also raised over human rights violations and the silence of international peace organizations over it.
The participants of the meeting also deplored the ban on worship in mosques during the holy month of Ramadan and the deliberate unavailability of daily items for Sehri and Iftar.
The members of the forum expressed concern that after the illegal abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A of the Indian Constitution, the Indian authorities were issuing domiciles to non-state Indian citizens to turn the Muslim majority territory into a minority.
They urged the world community and international human rights organizations to put pressure on India to immediately restore the territory’s centuries-old identity and provide an opportunity to the people of Kashmir to decide their future.
The participants of the meeting also condemned the jail authorities for not providing basic necessities like medicine and food to the Kashmiri political detainees and urged the world bodies to take notice of it.
At the end of the meeting, the members agreed to reconstitute the members of the forum in every district of the occupied territory, especially in the districts of Jammu
