Srinagar, March 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, hundreds of people participated in the funeral prayers of a civilian martyred by Indian troops in Pulwama.

The civilian, Muhammad Ayoub Wani, was killed when the troops resorted to indiscriminate firing following a grenade attack on a bunker of Indian Central Reserve Police Force at Muran Chowk in Pulwama town.

Locals said that Ayoub Wani had bullet injury on the chest and was killed in retaliatory firing by the forces’ personnel after the grenade attack.

The killing triggered forceful anti-India demonstrations in Pulwama. Indian police and troops used brute force to disperse the protesters triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel.

The forces also thrashed the photographer of English daily Greater Kashmir, Kamran Yousuf, while he was performing his professional duty.

Kamran Yousuf said that he was clicking pictures during clashes when some policemen came towards him and one of them slapped him many times and hit him with a stick. He also tried to snatch my camera, he added.
