Srinagar, October 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a march towards Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) in Srinagar on October 14, 2017 to protest against incessant incidents of braid-chopping and attempts at altering and changing history, culture, heritage and Muslim majority status of Jammu and Kashmir by authorities in New Delhi.

The JRL comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar asked the people to massively participate in the march. »

Srinagar, February 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Karalgund and Langate areas of Handwara to mourn the killing of youth who were martyred by Indian troops in Karalgund on Tuesday.

Tributes paid to Kulgam, Hajin Martyrs
Srinagar, February 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, normal life remained paralysed in Kulgam district and Tral area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir on the second consecutive day, today, against the killing of Kashmiri youth by Indian troops.

The Indian forces killed six Kashmiir youth on Sunday at Frisal in Kulgam. All commercial establishments remained closed in Kulgam district and Tral area.

Dozens of youth assembled near bus stand Tral and staged protests against the killings. »

Call for the march was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to demand the mortal remains of prominent martyred liberation leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru. The two leaders were hanged by India in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail and remain buried in the premises of the prison. »

Srinagar, February 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed, today, to mark the fourth martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmiri martyr, Muhammad Afzal Guru.

Call for the strike has been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. The leaders have also called for peaceful demonstrations to demand the mortal remains of the martyred liberation leaders, Muhammad Afzal Guru and Muhammad Maqbool Butt, who remain buried in New Delhi’s Tihar jail. Srinagar, January 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership has called for a complete shutdown in Gaw Kadal and its adjacent areas of Srinagar Saturday (January 21) to pay tributes to the massacre victims.

The leadership in a statement also called for a complete shutdown in Handwara and Kupwara on January 25 and 27 respectively. »

Srinagar, December 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, and Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, has extended the ongoing protest programme for the right to self-determination till January 15, 2017.

The leaders in a statement issued in Srinagar urged people to hold ‘Freedom Congregations’ on Fridays. “Post-Friday prayer, hold Freedom Congregations across Jammu and Kashmir at places identified and agreed upon locally and mutually; Resistance/Masjid Committees/Youth Volunteers of villages/localities must coordinate and ensure the arrangements,” they said. On this day, there will be no relaxation in shutdown. »

Srinagar, December 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have imposed curfew and other restrictions in Srinagar to prevent proposed protest march towards Lal Chowk, called by the joint resistance leadership, today.

Restrictions have been imposed in and around Lal Chowk and other areas, police officials said. “Restrictions will remain in force today (Monday) in and around Lal Chowk area in the valley,” a police official told media men in Srinagar. »
