Srinagar, October 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, in 2016 when the territory witnessed killing of over 100 civilians and injuring of thousands in the firing and shelling of Indian forces’ personnel on protesters, 136 FIRs were registered against people in Chenab Valley and Pir Panchal region of Jammu province for taking part in massive protests against the killings.

The details submitted by the authorities to estimates committee of the so-called Kashmir Assembly revealed that 136 FIRs were registered against protesters in Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Poonch districts. »

Srinagar, March 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Kashmir Economic Forum (KEF), an umbrella body of traders, has said that the officials of Commercial Taxes Department are harassing the drivers of Kashmir Valley-bound trucks at Lakhanpur check post in Jammu.

The KEF in a statement issued in Srinagar said that in the name of physical verification, loaded trucks of Kashmiri traders at Lakhanpur check post were stopped by autocratic officials and were kept in the queue for several days. These officials have no sympathy with the traders, it said. »

Srinagar, March 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian Home Ministry has made fresh authorisation of over 5,000 pump action guns, widely known as pellet guns, for its forces deployed in Jammu and Kashmir.

Around nine pellet guns will be available with every company comprising around 120 personnel. More than six lakh matching cartridges, commonly referred to as pellet-shots, have also been authorised, up from 1.25 lakh last year, DNA India reported. »

New Delhi, February 28 (KMS): In yet another anti-Muslim move in India, a court has awarded life imprisonment to Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) Chief, Safdar Hussain Nagori, and 10 other activists of the organization in a so-called 2008 sedition case.

The sentence was awarded by Special Additional Sessions Judge, Justice B K Paloda. »

Srinagar, February 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a court has extended stay on the bail order of senior leader of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Masarrat Aalam Butt, by 12 more days.

Masarrat Aalam Butt, who is currently being detained at Sumbal Police Station, had been granted bail by Chief Judicial Magistrate Bandipora on February 21. However, the puppet administration challenged the bail order before the Sessions Judge Bandipora who suspended its execution until 27 February. The Court had posted the case for filing of the objection by Masarrat Aalam Butt to revision plea. After hearing, it extended the stay on the bail order till March 10. »

Srinagar, February 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has today issued fresh protest programme until March 15.

Under the protest calendar, High Court Bar Association of Kashmir would hold peaceful protests on Wednesday against the non-implementation of the court orders, while Resistance Day would be observed on Thursday against the killings of innocent youths. Peaceful protests would be held throughout valley after Friday prayers. »

The soldier identified as Havaldar Krishan Singh Rathore ended his life by shooting himself in the neck with his service rifle in Maheshwar area of the district. He died on the spot, reports quoting a police official said. »
