Srinagar, March 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested the APHC General Secretary and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmad Shah, in Tral town, today.

The police took Shabbir Ahmed Shah into custody when he was going to visit the parents of martyred popular youth leader, Burhan Wani, in the town.

Burhan Wani was killed by Indian troops in a fake encounter on July 8, last year. His killing triggered massive uprising in the occupied territory. »

Srinagar, March 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a local court has sent senior APHC leader Masarrat Aalam Butt to judicial remand till 11th of this month.

Masarrat Aalam Butt was produced before a court in Bandipora in a case lodged against him at Sumbal police station. He was remanded till March 11 by Judicial Magistrate Bandipora. The APHC leader was sent to Baramulla district jail. »

Srinagar, February 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a court has extended the remand of illegally detained ailing senior leader of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, for five more days.

Indian police had arrested Khan Sopori on February 15 from a condolence session on the occasion of 42nd martyrdom anniversary of noted resistance leader, Ghulam Muhammad Bulla, and lodged him at Sopore Police Station. »

New Delhi, February 22 (KMS): Indian police have arrested three Kashmiri youth in New Delhi.

The youth hailing from Batpora area of Sopore were arrested by the special cell of Delhi police on the charges of stone pelting during anti-India demonstrations in the occupied territory. They have been identified as Yawar Muzaffar, Waseem Dar and Danish Dar. »

Call for the march was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to demand the mortal remains of prominent martyred liberation leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru. The two leaders were hanged by India in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail and remain buried in the premises of the prison. »

The court of sub-registrar Srinagar, Mir Sayeem Qayoom, however extended the judicial remand of Masarrat Aalam Butt and ordered his lodgment in sub-jail Baramulla. The court actually disposed off two applications – one filed by the SHO police station Sumbal, seeking change of JKML Chairman’s custody from case (FIR No.126/2010 in police station Sadder) to (FIR 53/2015 in police station Sumbal) and another filed by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar, for his judicial remand in the case at Saddar. »

Srinagar, January 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, despite the court giving bail to a 76-year old liberation leader, Sheikh Mohammad Yousuf, languishing in Kupwara Jail under the black law Public Safety Act (PSA) was has not be released.

“I don’t understand what his crime is. Did he pelt stones? How can such an old person pelt stones or attack anybody? Instead, he was the one to tell youth to protest peacefully, to not pick up stones. They have charged him with crimes that he cannot do. The charges are all fabricated,” said Yousuf’s wife, Hanifa Begum, 73. »
