Srinagar, March 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has said that continued house arrest of its Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, has taken a heavy toll on his health.

The APHC spokesman, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar in a statement issued in Srinagar said, Syed Ali Gilani is under house detention for the past more than six years. He said that less physical activity due to house detention could complicate the health condition of the octogenarian leader. He said that the residence of Syed Ali Gilani was under surveillance as CCTV cameras had been installed at several points near it. He urged India to reconsider its Kashmir policy which had neither changed the disputed status of Kashmir nor disassociated the Kashmiri people from the freedom movement. »

The Hurriyet forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the unresolved Kashmir dispute was the main reason of uncertainty in South Asia and its amicable resolution would end tension in the entire region. »

Srinagar, March 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Qutab-i-Aalam and Manzoor Ahmad addressed a public gathering and protest really in Bandipora, today, against the deteriorating health of Kashmiri political prisoners lodging in different jails.

Addressing on the occasion, they said that due to lack of medical facilities and insufficient food, health of many Kashmiri detainees had deteriorated badly. They said that a delegation of the family members of the prisoners informed them about the health condition of their beloved in jails. »

New Delhi, March 01 (KMS): Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader, Sitaram Yechury, has flayed the Narendra Modi government and the Sangh Parivar over the death and rape threats to Delhi University student, Gurmehar Kaur, for taking on Hindu extremist organization, Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

Srinagar, February 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the executive members of Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir passed a resolution to extend the tenure of its Chairman Syed Ali Gilani by a year.

Malik visits persons released after 12 years in jail

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Pulwama and Islamabad districts against the highhandedness of Indian army and police in the territory.

Shops and other business establishments were closed while public transport remained off the road in the districts. Indian army, today, cordoned the Bijbehara town and conducted house-to-house search operations.

Anti-India protest demonstrations were held at Press Enclave in Srinagar, today. The protesters led by APHC leader, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash were carrying placards, which were reading pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. The protesters urged the international community to play role in preventing gross human rights violations by Indian by forces in the occupied territory. »

Indian police arrest many Hurriyet leaders in Srinagar

Srinagar, February 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani and General Secretary, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, have said that India’s repressive tactics cannot suppress the freedom movement of the Kashmiri people and intimidate them into submission.

Syed Ali Gilani and Shabbir Ahmed Shah were reacting to the recent assertion of Indian Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat, in which he asked Indian troops to go tough on the Kashmiri freedom-fighters and the people who hold demonstrations during siege and search operations.

The leaders in their statements said that Kashmir was a political dispute that could not be resolved through military might. They said that the remarks of General Bipin Rawat depicted India’s intransigence and arrogance of power. »
