Srinagar, January 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a 14-year-old orphan pellet victim girl, whose father was killed by Indian forces during operation nine years ago, has said that only God can help her.

Indian forces fired teargas shells and pellets during protest against the ransacking of houses at Rohmoo in Pulwama. A 14-year-old orphan girl, Ifra Jan, stepped out of her home to look for her younger brother who had gone out to play with neighbouring kids. As soon as she reached the road, a rain of pellets hit her, some of them piercing her eyes. »

Srinagar, January 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have not allowed the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) spokesman, Ayaz Akbar, to meet Chairman Syed Ali Gilani. Ayaz Akbar, who was recently released from six months illegal detention, in a statement in Srinagar said that he went to meet the APHC Chairman after his release but the police deployed outside the residence of Syed Ali Gilani did not allow him to enter. »

Srinagar, January 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Syed Ali Gilani has urged the people to maintain brotherhood and harmony, saying some elements and agencies are hell bent to harm harmony among various sects in the territory.

Resistance leadership extends protest calendar

Srinagar, January 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has called upon international human rights organisations to use their influence for immediate release of the political detainees languishing in different jails of the territory.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said the detainees lodged in Kathua, Kotbhalwal and Udhampore jails are living in miserable conditions and are even deprived of medical facilities. During the ongoing people’s uprising, he added, innocent minors, elderly and ailing people were detained under draconian Public Safety Act and were lodged in jails and police stations. A six-member team of Awami Ittehhad Party led by party chief and member of the so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdur Rasheed during its visit to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu testified that the detainees were not being provided adequate medical facilities and were facing many other basic problems as well. »
