    Yasin Malik pays tributes to martyred liberation leader

    Srinagar, February 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik has paid glowing tributes to the prominent martyred liberation leader, Mohammad Maqbool Butt. Maqbool Butt was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar jail on 11th February in 1984 for his role in the Kashmir liberation movement.

    Addressing a gathering in Pulwama, Muhammad Yasin Malik said that Maqbool Butt was a historic figure who gave a new dimension to the liberation struggle in the occupied territory. “No Kashmiri can forget his martyrdom. He was a great figure, whose contribution can never be described in words or by writing. He alone fought against the oppression and sacrificed his life for the struggle,” he added.

    The JKLF Chairman said that India hanged the martyred leader on 11th February in 1984. “However, India had no idea that killing a Maqbool Butt will give birth to thousands of freedom lovers who will always be ready to sacrifice their lives for the movement,” he added.
