Work on road links Kashmir valley with Rajauri stopped

Srinagar, August 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet regime has stopped work on Mughal Road project has been stopped for the last 25 days. The road is blocked for the last several decades though it links the occupied valley with the Muslim dominated districts of Jammu region, Rajauri and Poonch.

The road can be used as an alternative route of Srinagar- Jammu highway. The Public Works Department, despite hectic efforts, failed to get diesel to run the machinery due to the blockade of Kashmir.

A senior official of the PWD described discontinuation of work as temporary and blamed the present circumstances for it. He said that work on the Mughal road would resume after opening of the highway.

“Yes for past one month there was halt in the work but it was due to present circumstances and shortage of diesel,” the official said. He said the department could overcome this difficulty in next few days. He said the present hurdle of shortage of diesel and migration of labourers could be settled in days.
