Srinagar, April 15 (KMS): In Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom (JKPFL) league took out a peaceful procession against Indian state terrorism. The procession started from Kukar Bazaar and was peacefully marching towards the office of United Nations observers’ Group in Sonawar, where they had to present a memorandum to project the ongoing human rights violations by Indian troops and the recent discovery of 1000 unidentified graves in Baramulla district.
However, the personnel of Indian police intercepted the protesters at Regal Chowk and resorted to brute force and prevented them to reach the UN office. 15 protesters including leaders and activists of JKPFL were arrested and locked up in Kothi Bagh police station.
The spokesman of JKPFL termed the use of force on peaceful protesters as the worst kind of state terrorism and urged the international community to impress upon India to stop these abuses and also play its role in resolving the long standing Kashmir dispute. He also appealed to United Nations to intervene and help in identifying the persons buried in the recently discovered mass graves in Baramulla district.
The spokesman said that the blood of martyrs would never be allowed to go waste and reiterated the Kashmiris’ pledge to continue the liberation struggle till it reaches its logical conclusion.
