Srinagar, May 16 (KMS): In Srinagar, a delegation of US State Department held meetings with the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik and exchanged views on the present situation of occupied Kashmir.
The APHC Chairman told the delegation that US should play its role to help resolve the longstanding Kashmir dispute to ensure security in South Asia. He said that Kashmir has become a flash point and needs the immediate attention of the international community. Mirwaiz also urged the US to facilitate dialogue process between India and Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a separate meeting apprised the delegation about the changed political scenario of the region. He maintained that Kashmiris’ liberation struggle was based on justice and strengthened by the sacrifices of the people. He also briefed them about his Safar-e-Azadi (Journey to Freedom) campaign.
