    UN urged to probe crimes against humanity in IHK

    Release of illegally detained Kashmiris demanded

    New Delhi, January 29 (KMS): The veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has urged the United Nations to investigate through International War Crimes Tribunal the crimes against humanity being perpetrated by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

    Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in New Delhi strongly condemned the granting of gallantry awards by the occupation authorities to the two Indian police officers who were involved in the custodial killing of a Kashmiri youth in Sopore, last year. He termed the action as rubbing salt on the wounds of Kashmiri people.

    On the other hand, the spokesman of Syed Ali Gilani’s forum in a statement in Srinagar castigated the Indian police for subjecting to torture the illegally detained Kashmiris lodged at Srinagar central jail when they resisted their shifting to the jails outside the Kashmir Valley.

    The Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir in its statement expressing serious concern over the unlawful dettention of Kashmiris including Hurriyet leaders and activists demanded their immediate release.

    The All Parties Hurriyet Conference leader, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, addressing a public gathering at Eidgah in Srinagar said that the people of Kashmir would continue their liberation struggle till its logical conclusion.

    Body of a civilian who was missing since October, last year, was recovered from river Jhelum near Amira Kadal in Srinagar.
