Students boycott Indian President’s function
Srinagar, May 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred one more innocent youth in Bari area of Doda district. Dead body of one youth each was recovered from Charwari in Ramban and Charsoo in Awantipora.
In Srinagar, the students of Kashmir University boycotted the function addressed by the visiting Indian President, Pratibha Patil in the campus today. The function was organised to inaugurate a new faculty, the Kashmir Study Centre. The student leaders told mediamen that the Indian President’s visit to the occupied territory had no justification as the occupation troops were engaged in violating Kashmiris’ basic human rights.
The students held a separate demonstration in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar to protest against the anti-people policies of the puppet regime. Several areas in Srinagar city remained in military siege today to prevent demonstrations on the occasion of Indian President’s visit. A protest march is scheduled to be staged tomorrow in Kashmir University campus against Indian state terrorism.
