Troops martyr 2 more innocent Kashmiris

99 troops commit suicide since Jan 2007

Srinagar, June 27 (KMS):  In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred two more innocent Kashmiri youth in Ganderbal district, today.

Troops of 24-Rashtriya Rifles (RR) during military operation killed the youth at Kachpathri near Kangan area of the district. Earlier one trooper was killed and another injured in an attack in the same area.

Meanwhile, protest strike against the transfer of Kashmiris’ land to non-Kashmiris’ crippled normal life in occupied Kashmir for the fifth successive day on Friday. All educational institutions, business establishments, banks, courts, government and non-government offices remained closed in all parts of the occupied territory and traffic was of the road.

Clashes between the Indian police personnel and people were witnessed in all parts of Srinagar, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Budgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Kupwara, Islamabad and Kulgam districts. Indian police personnel resorted to indiscriminate firing, heavy lathi charge and excessive teargas shelling to disperse the protestors. The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik led a protest march from Chotta Bazaar to Lal Chowk in Srinagar.

A Border Security Force personnel of 81st battalion committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle inside his room at a camp in Trehgam area of Kupwara district. This has brought the death toll of such killings among Indian troops to 99 since January 2007.
