Srinagar, April 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Association of Families of Kashmiri Prisoners (AFKP) has said that three innocent Kashmiri youth have been illegally detained in New Delhi’s notorious Tihar Jail for the last seven years.
The association, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that on contact with the families after colleting data of the prisoners in district Islamabad, it was revealed that Engineer Muhammad Afzal Kumar, Ansar Ahmed Dar and Bilal Ahmed Mir were sentenced ten years of imprisonment on false charges.
The statement said that Engineer Muhammad Afzal of Achabal area of Islamabad went to Delhi to purchase the goods related to his father’s business and stayed with his friend Bilal Ahmed Mir, a student of MBA, in a hostel. A police official, Raj Babbar Sigh along with other police personnel raided the hostel on January 02, 2002 in the evening and detained the three persons. Later, after 15 days of their detention, they were shown on television screens as suspected terrorists.
The organization said that Indian authorities assumed every Kashmiri a terrorist and put them into jails for years on fake charges.
The AFKP pointed out that the trio was continuously suffering from hardships of the jail without any reason while their families were leading their lives helplessly and in desperation. »
