Geneva, March 11 (KMS): A Kashmiri delegation led by Altaf Hussain Wani, leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter, held a meeting with the Special Repporteur on the Rights of Children in Armed Conflicts, Radika Comaraswamy at Geneva on the side lines of the 13th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the statement issued in Geneva said that the delegation briefed the special repporteur about the situation of human rights in the occupied territory with special reference to the resent killings of the five innocent Kashmiri youth in the last two months. The delegation includes Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Sardar Amjad Yousef and Mrs Shamima Shawl 

It said that the delegation apprised the special repporteur about the Indian state terrorism unleashed by the troops in the territory.

The members of the delegation urged the special repporteur to use her office for impressing upon India to revoke all the draconian laws, which provided impunity to the troops to commit rights violations in the occupied valley.

They also met with the representative of the permanent mission of Norway, Claire Hubert and briefed him about the continued human rights abuses by the troopers in the valley. »
