Srinagar, July 15 (KMS): Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Shah has emphasised that the periodical elections are meaningless for the people of occupied Kashmir as they provide no solution to the Kashmir dispute.
Shabbir Ahmed Shah said this while addressing a gathering at Nawab Bazaar in Srinagar. The APHC leader pointed out that the Hurriyet had no intention to participate in the forthcoming elections for the so-called Kashmir assembly. He appreciated Pakistan’s efforts towards resolving the Kashmir dispute, once and for all.
Shabbir Shah maintained that India would not succeed in suppressing Kashmiris’ voice through military might adding that the struggle for right to self-determination would continue despite Indian state terrorism. He pointed out that people of Kashmir would frustrate Indian designs to sabotage the ongoing movement with unity as they have demonstrated in the recent successful protests against the illegal transfer of land.
The APHC leader urged India to give up its traditional intransigence, accept the ground realities and take concrete steps to resolve the Kashmir dispute, once and for all. He underlined the need to associate the real representatives of Kashmiris with the dialogue process between Pakistan and India to make it meaningful and result oriented.
Shabbir Ahmed Shah thanked the people and the government of Pakistan for supporting the Kashmir cause and hoped that the support would continue in future also. He appealed to the international community to exert pressure on India to resolve the conflict over Kashmir.
Earlier, the APHC leader expressed his solidarity with the bereaved family of a youth martyred by the Indian troops in the area.
