Srinagar, May 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Jamaat-e-Islami has said that the so-called assembly and Indian Parliament elections cannot be a substitute to the plebiscite promised to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued at the end of a two-day session of the Jamaat’s high-decision making advisory council, in Srinagar said that people must stay away from this futile exercise in the interest of struggle for the right to self-determination in the occupied territory.
The statement said that the so-called elections have no link with the sacrifices offered by the people for the righteous cause.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in a statement condemned the recent custodial killings at various in the occupied territory.
On the occasion of press freedom day, the statement said the media should be free so that it could perform its duties in a better way towards the people.
