London, May 17 (KMS): The Executive Director of Kashmir Centre London, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl has condemned the fresh wave of human right violations in occupied Kashmir.
Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl in a statement in London said that the Indian troops were continuously torturing people, arresting them, destroying residential houses and creating horrible harassment. He pointed out that the recent savage behaviour by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) towards the people of Podder Keller in Pulwama, Srinagar, Pattan, and Rafiabad areas was just an example.
The Executive Director said that the troops have yet to oblige the Indian Prime Minister, Man Mohan Singh’s promise of zero tolerance against human rights violations. He maintained that holding of so-called elections in the presence of seven hundred thousand Indian troops was just a military operation.
Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl said that the biggest hurdle in the progress and prosperity of the occupied territory was the illegal military occupation by India. He appealed to the international human right organizations to take notice of the serious situation in occupied Kashmir and help the people in redeeming their right of self-determination.
