Shabbir Shah placed under house arrest in Srinagar

Srinagar, September 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities placed the senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference and the President of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmed Shah under house arrest, today.

The action was taken to prevent Shabbir Ahmed Shah from going to Humhama area of Budgam to express solidarity with the families of the youth who were martyred by Indian police and troops during last year’s uprising on this day. The authorities deployed heavy contingents of Indian police and troops outside the residence of the senior APHC leader.

On the other hand, the DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the house arrest of Shabbir Ahmed Shah terming it as an democratic action by the puppet administration.
