Srinagar, December 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has expressed serious concern over the rape and murder of two Kashmiri women in Shopian and subsequent report on the tragedy by Indian Central Bureau of Investigation.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the men in uniform first raped the two Kashmiri women and then murdered them to remove the evidences. He deplored that those who had collected evidences against the involved people had been described culprits and asked to face the court.
The APHC leader saluted the people of Shopian for holding continued protests against the tragedy. Shabbir Ahmad Shah, while condemning the CBI report, said that the occupation authorities had handed over the case to the Indian agency for rescuing the men in uniform.
He said that the Indian troops and police personnel had been targeting and harassing the innocent people of the occupied territory for last several decades. However, he said that cruelty couldn’t remain intact forever and struggle of the Kashmiri people would definitely bring positive results.
The APHC leader pointed out that India had always dishonoured its promises and commitments, adding that despite Sharm-el-Sheikh accord between India and Pakistan, India had yet to start negotiations. He also urged New Delhi to give up its rigid stance on Kashmir and come to the negotiation table for resolving the Kashmir dispute so that permanent peace could be established in South Asia.
