Srinagar, July 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Shaikh Abdul Aziz has saluted the people of the valley for their determination and courage shown during the recent protests against the land transfer order, which resulted in the revocation of the order.
Shaikh Abdul Aziz in a statement in Srinagar said that the cancellation of the land transfer order was a triumph for the people of Kashmir. He strongly condemned the use of indiscriminate force on peaceful protesters and said, “Such acts would not deter Kashmiris to continue their freedom struggle.
Kashmir Bar Association in a meeting held in Srinagar and presided over by the Bar President, Nazir Ahmed Ronga lauded the people of valley for their resilience in shape of massive demonstrations against the forestland transfer to non-Kashmiris. The meeting viewed that people have acted as torchbearers for the movement. The association also appreciated the valiant efforts of the Action Committee against land Transfer (ACALT) and the role of bar associations in other districts, who peacefully took to the streets to show their concern over the issue.
The Bar Association deplored that some Hindu extremists in Jammu were hell bent on creating communal tensions in the territory and appealed to the people of all faiths to maintain calm and brotherhood and not get provoked by such unscrupulous elements. It also condemned what it termed the dastardly act on human rights activist, Pervez Imroz by Indian troops to prevent him from performing onerous job of highlighting the human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
