Big processions in Cherar e Sherief and Budgam
Srinagar, August 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, observing Jumat-ul-Wida, today, as the Day of Quds and Kashmir, the people demanded of the international community to come forward in a big way and help the people of Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir secure their inalienable right to self-determination.
Call for the observance of the Day was given by the APHC chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani. A resolution was passed in several mosques of the occupied territory rejecting the Indian state terrorism in Kashmir and the Israeli aggression in Palestine. It demanded withdrawal of Indian troops from Jammu and Kashmir.
The occupation authorities had placed Syed Ali Gilani and Shabbir Ahmad Shah under house arrest.
The APHC Chairman addressing a mammoth gathering in Srinagar maintained that the people of Kashmir were the masters of their destiny who should be given a chance to decide their future by themselves.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik led a big procession in Cherar e Sherief and APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Almosavi in Budgam. The JKLF Chairman said that if the world community did not focus its attention on the resolution of Kashmir dispute, it could cause destruction in the whole South Asian region.
Speakers at the public gatherings at other places included Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Zafar Akbar Butt, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Javed Ahmad Mir, Farooq Ahmad Dar and Hakim Abdul Rasheed.
11 civilians were injured when a grenade exploded in a market near Batamaloo Bus Stand in Srinagar.
