Protests against land transfer to continue: Sheikh Aziz

Srinagar, June 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Sheikh Abdul Aziz has said that the peaceful demonstrations against the transfer of Kashmiris’ land to non-Kashmiris will continue till the puppet administration revokes its decision.

The APHC leader in a statement in Srinagar warned that situation in occupied Kashmir could get worse if the issue was not resolved immediately adding that the responsibility for the worsening the situation lies on the puppet administration, which failed to respect the wishes and aspirations of the people. He said that people of the territory have spontaneously reacted to the well-thought out conspiracy to occupy Kashmiris’ land illegally.

The APHC leader pointed out that some elements with vested interests were trying to give communal colour to the ongoing movement. He maintained that the people of the territory are not communal and Amarnath yatra is nothing new as it has been going on for several decades. Sheikh Aziz added that Kashmiris will not tolerate any attempts to erode the Islamic identity of this land and will go to any extent to uphold it.

The APHC leader strongly condemned the use of brute force against the peaceful protesters including liberation leaders Syed Ali Gilani and Muhammad Yasin Malik by the Indian troops.  He also denounced the house arrest of APHC leaders Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Nayeem Ahmed Khan and Zaffar Akbar Butt.
