Srinagar, April 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, several people were injured when Indian police personnel resorted to brute force to disperse a protest demonstration led by the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik at Hajan in Bandipora, today.
The demonstration was held to protest against the arrest of four innocent youth by Indian troops during a raid in the area. The protesters, shouting high-pitched anti-India and pro-liberation slogans, also staged a sit-in at Hajan Chowk.
Addressing on the occasion, the JKLF Chairman maintained that such acts would not deter the people of occupied territory from pursuing their right to self-determination. Separate anti-India protest demonstrations were held at Beehama Chowk in Ganderbal and Keller in Pulwama.
Two Indian troops succumbed to the injuries they had sustained from the firing of their colleague, who later on committed suicide yesterday in Katra town of Reasi district.
