Strike, protests against land transfer continue in IHK
Srinagar, June 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a massive protest demonstration will be held in Srinagar tomorrow to convey to India that the people of Kashmir are determined to frustrate Indian designs of transferring their land to non-Kashmiris.
The call for the protest has been given by the Action Committee Against Land Transfer, which has been supported by the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik.
The Executive Council of the APHC held an extraordinary meeting at its Headquarters in Srinagar, today, with Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in chair. The APHC leaders warned India to desist from maligning the ongoing movement and maintained that Kashmiris’ struggle against Indian illegal occupation would continue till the goal of freedom was achieved.
Syed Ali Gilani led a big procession from Nawab Bazar to Habba Kadal in Srinagar. During the procession high-pitched pro-Pakistan, anti-India and pro-liberation slogans reverberated the interior localities of the city. Addressing the gathering, Syed Ali Gilani urged India to accept the ground realities and take steps towards the resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations.
The puppet administration kept the APHC leaders Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Nayeem Ahmed Khan under house arrest on second consecutive day, today, to prevent them from leading protest demonstrations against the land transfer.
Complete spontaneous strike marked with protest demonstrations continued for the eighth consecutive day, today, across occupied Kashmir against the land transfer and Indian state terrorism.
