Jammu, April 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian army has launched a probe into the Captain Megha Razdan’s suicide case, in which her husband, Captain Chaitanya Bhatwadekar was arrested on charges of abetting the suicide.
The army has written to the police to hand over details of the case. An officer has also been entrusted with the probe, who would look into the details of the case and involvement of Captain Bhatwadekar in it. A court had on April 16 remanded Captain Bhatwadekar to 15-day judicial remand following a police investigation that found him guilty of the charges.
It is pertinent to mention here that the lady officer was found hanging in her army quarters at Kunjwani on July 1 last year, after which police began probe into the mysterious death. Megha’s death had initially sparked a controversy after the recovery of a suicide note, saying she was harassed by her seniors in the army. The probe later zeroed in on Bhatwadekar, who tried to escape investigation by cutting his tongue and fabricated the circumstances by enacting a drama of kidnapping. Police had arrested Bhatwadekar on April 1 for abetting the suicide of his wife.
