Srinagar, May 22 (KMS): After assuming the charge as Indian President, Pratibha Patil arrived in Srinagar through a special plan on Friday for her first visit to occupied Kashmir.

Security has been beefed up in the occupied territory on the visit of Pratiba Patil and several areas in Srinagar have been virtually sealed by Indian troops for civilians and vehicular movement. Apart from elaborate security arrangements in the city and elsewhere, it has been learnt that the helicopters would carry out the aerial surveillance especially at vital locations.
