Pakistanis in Britain observe Kashmir Solidarity Day

London, February 06 (KMS): Pakistanis and Kashmiris living in Britain expressed their solidarity with their brethren in occupied Kashmir during a function, which was held in London.

Speaking as chief guest at the function, Executive Director Kashmir Centre London Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl said that Pakistan was the undying dream of People of Jammu and Kashmir. He thanked the people and the political leadership of the country for supporting the just cause of the Kashmiris struggling for their right to self-determination and a stable political future.

Professor Shawl asked India to concede the genuine aspirations of the people of Kashmir and stop all types of human rights violations. As a first step, he proposed demilitarisation and lifting of the draconian laws from Kashmir.

The function was presided over by President Pakistan Welfare Association Chaudhry Karamat Hussain. Those who attended it included the office bearers of Pakistan Welfare Association, Hira Educational Foundation, Muslim Centre Trust Stokepoges, Diamond Mosque Trust, Pakistan Muslim League, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir, Kashmir National Liberation Front, Kashmir Centre London.

Secretary General PWA Mr. Walidad and Vice President PWA Raja Fayaaz Ahmed welcomed the participants in the meeting. President Advisory Council Mohammad Ayyub prayed for the stability and solidarity of Pakistan. PML-N’s Raja Altaf Khan, Raja Ishaq Khan of Muslim Conference, Shoaib Akbar Nazish and Liyaqat Ali also addressed the function.

Others who participated were Mr. Naeemuddin ,Chaudhry Bashir Ahmed Chaudhry Abdul Qayyum, Raja Gulistan, Shafqat Rasul, Raja Mohmmed Sawroop, Atif Khan , Raja Ilyas, Chaudhry Mohammed Aslam and Raja Asghar.
