One trooper killed, two injured in Srinagar firing incident

APHC concerned over continued detention of leaders

Srinagar, March 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, one Indian trooper was killed and two others were injured in a firing incident in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar, today.

Indian troops besieged the entire area after the incident and started search operations. The injured were rushed to the hospital.

The All Parties Hurriyet Conference has expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Nayeem Ahmed Khan. In a statement in Srinagar, the APHC spokesman said that both the leaders were suffering from multiple ailments and were being deprived of proper medical care.

Meanwhile, the puppet Chief Minister of occupied Kashmir, Omar Abdullah admitted in the so-called Kashmir Assembly that nearly six hundred thousand Kanals of Kashmiris’ private land was under the possession of Indian troops. Independent sources put the figure much higher than stated by the puppet Chief Minister.

In Geneva, speaking at the 13th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Kashmiri woman activist, Shameema Shawl deplored that India was using Kashmiri women as a weapon of war and schoolboys were being targeted by Indian troops to suppress Kashmiris’ liberation struggle. Addressing a seminar on the sidelines of the Session, Kashmiri representative, Altaf Hussain Wani said India had been denying the Kashmiris’ inalienable right of self-determination for the past several decades.
