Moulvi Mushtaq’s martyrdom anniversary observed

Sacrifices of people centre-staged Kashmir dispute

Srinagar, June 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, rich tributes were paid to prominent Kashmiri scholar, Moulvi Muhammad Mushtaq on the eve of his fourth martyrdom anniversary in Srinagar, today. Moulvi Muhammad Mushtaq was shot at by unknown gunmen on May 29, 2004 while he was offering prayers at a mosque near Mirwaiz Manzil in Rajouri Kadal locality of Srinagar. Later, he succumbed to his injuries on June 07.

Addressing a gathering Chairman of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, said that Kashmiri martyrs’ sacrifices had centre-staged the Kashmir dispute all across the globe.

The other speakers, including Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Shaikh Abdul Aziz, Fazl Haq Qureshi and Nayeem Ahmad Khan, paid glowing homage to the martyr’s services and reaffirmed Kashmiris’ pledge to leave no stone unturned for the success of the liberation struggle.

Strike was observed to protest the atrocities of the Indian troops against the people and disgracing of several women during crackdown operation in Shopian. Another protest demonstration against Indian state terrorism was held in Sopore.
