Mirwaiz demands probe into graves’ discovery

Urges world to help stop HR violation in IHK

Srinagar, April 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq castigated Indian government on its silence over the discovery of unidentified graves in Baramulla district and demanded an international probe into the matter.

Talking to mediamen in Srinagar, the APHC Chairman said that discovery of these graves proved that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s promise of zero tolerance against the human rights violations was just to mislead world opinion.

Phrasing the revelation of graves as gross human rights abuse Mirwaiz said, “We had read about the atrocities by Changez Khan and Hallaku on the people during their times. The history has witnessed the cruelties of Nazi ruler Hitler on Jews. Now, India is repeating same atrocities and human right abuses on Kashmiris and the exposure of the graves is a tip of the iceberg. We don’t know how many unmarked graves will surface from different areas.”

The APHC Chairman also urged the international human rights organizations to intervene to stop the human rights violations being committed by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

Although, the Amnesty International has already asked India to probe into the matter but India has not yet reciprocated the demand. On the other hand, inaugurating the district office of APHC in Kulgam today, the Hurriyet leaders, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Nayeem Ahmed Khan emphasised that killing of Kashmiri youth in custody and then burying them in mysterious conditions was the worst type of state terrorism unleashed by India in the occupied territory.
