Rich tributes paid to Kashmiri liberation martyrs
Srinagar, May 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the commencement of Martyrdom Week, today, was marked with extraordinary meetings to pay rich tributes to Kashmiri liberation martyrs and invoke Allah’s mercy and blessings for them.
Call for the observance of the Martyrdom Week was given by the All Parties Hurriyet Conference.
In Srinagar this morning, Indian troops damaged dozens of vehicles while intercepting a motorcade at several places from Rajori Kadal to Batamaloo. A big public gathering was held at Jamia Masjid, which was addressed among others by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the Vice Chancellor of Dar-ul-Uloom Deoband, Maulana Ahmed Khazir Shah Kashmiri. The APHC Chairman deplored that Indian secret agencies were continuously engaged in sponsoring immoral activities in the occupied territory with the intention of distracting the people. The speakers lauded the services of the martyred Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while talking in Srinagar to a delegation of US diplomats said that Kashmir had become a flashpoint and the international community needed to come forward in a big way to resolve the dispute. Senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, addressing a public gathering at Beehama in Ganderbal expressed serious concern over the discovery of unnamed mass graves in the occupied territory.
