London Conference appeals to probe into unnamed graves in IHK

London, May 02 (KMS): In London, the World Kashmir Freedom Movement (WKFM) in its annual conference at the British House of Lords urged the international community to provide their full moral, diplomatic and political support to the efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations.

The speakers including Dr. Ghulam Nabi Mir, Dr, Ghulam Nabi Fai, Nazir Ahamd Qureishi, Ali Shahnawaz Khan, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Shawl, Riaz Khokhar, Lord Nazir Ahmad, Mr. Paul Goodman, Dr. Anaitullah Andrabi, Ghulam Mohammad Safi, Rob Morris, Shamima Shawl, Irshad Ahmad Malik and Muzzammil Thakur expressed concern over the recent discovery of mass graves at Uri and Buniyar in Baramulla district of occupied Kashmir. They called upon Amnesty International and other human rights organizations, governments and people of conscience to launch an immediate probe into these graves. 

The speakers urged India to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations without any further delay. The conference declared that elections in Indian occupied Kashmir could not be a substitute to the referendum promised by successive United Nations resolutions.

The speakers also highlighted the importance of involving Kashmiri leadership in the dialogue process between Pakistan and India to make it a success.
