Srinagar, August 28 (KMS): In Srinagar, the Kashmir Coordination Committee (KCC) has said that the arrest of liberation leaders would not affect the ongoing freedom movement.
Spokesman of the Coordination Committee, Masarat Alam in a statement called upon the people of Kashmir to offer prayers throughout the occupied territory on Friday for the people killed by troops’ firing recently. He said that the struggle would continue till liberation, adding that the people of Kashmir have rendered matchless sacrifices and are ready to shed the last drop of their blood for the universally recognised right of self-determination.
Masarat Alam maintained that Kashmiris were united for their cause and the leaders’ arrest would not divide them. He pointed out that the liberation movement was purely indigenous and the people of Kashmir would continue it to get rid of Indian state barbarism.
The spokesperson of the Coordination Committee also said that special Friday prayers will be offered at all district headquarters and Namaz-i-Janaza in absentia will be held for all those martyred during the peaceful protests.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has also condemned the arrest of liberation leaders, including Mohammad Yasin Malik. Bashir Ahmad Bhat, vice chairman of the JKLF, in his statement said that the occupation forces were not disclosing the whereabouts of liberation leaders.
He said that the leaders’ arrest couldn’t discourage them rather it would further accelerate the ongoing Kashmir movement. He also demanded of the puppet administration to immediately release the Kashmiri leaders.
