Kashmiris proud of their martyrs

Srinagar, July 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the relatives of the six Kashmiris, martyred during the recent massive protests against the land transfer order, have said that Kashmiris are proud of the sacrifices of their loved ones.

Talking to a local daily in Srinagar, the relatives maintained that the sacrifices did not go waste as the order of transferring Kashmiris land to non-Kashmiris was revoked.

“I lost my dear son and I miss him a lot. But I am sure that his sacrifice made me proud of him,” said Shahzada, the mother of Sammer Ahmad Batloo of Karfali Mohalla in Srinagar. Her views were endorsed by 70-year old Begum Rahti of Budgam, who lost her husband, Abdul Gani Sheikh. “My husband’s sacrifice bore fruits immediately after he was killed” “We are extremely grateful to people who expressed solidarity with us,” she added.

Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, whose brother Farooq Ahmad Rather was killed, said, “I am sure the sacrifices rendered by the people of Kashmir will lead us to freedom.” Fifty-year-old, Habibullah Mandroo, whose son Imtiyaz Ahmad lost his life, thanked the people of Kashmir for supporting the family after his death. “We lost hundreds of lives in the past 18 years and my son is one amongst them. What else should make me prouder than this?” he said, bursting into tears.
