Kashmiris inclusion in talks process stressed

London, May 10 (KMS): In London, the All Parties Parliamentary Group on Kashmir organized a farewell party in the honour of Dr Maliha Lodhi.

Margaret Moran chaired the farewell party, which was also attended among others by Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, the Executive Director Kashmir Centre London, Martin Salter, Bob Anisworth, Paul Goodman, Paul Rowen, Rob Morris, Marck Fisher, Dari Taylor and Marsha Singh.

Dr. Maliha Lodhi said that the dialogue process between Pakistan and India has reached at decisive phase and now it must move from confidence building to conflict resolution. She maintained that Kashmir dispute was fundamentally a question of Kashmiris right to self-determination and underlined the need to involve the real representatives of Kashmiris in the dialogue process.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl said, “Any vision of peace in the south Asia has to be linked with the resolution of Kashmir dispute as all routes to harmony pass through Kashmir.” He pointed out that the India-Pakistan engagement had not brought any phenomenal change in the human rights situation in the occupied territory. In this context Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl mentioned recently discovered mass graves and urged the parliament members to raise their voice for instituting an international tribunal to examine these crimes against humanity.

Rejecting the so-called elections in occupied Kashmir, Professor Shawl said that these elections would just be a military operation.
