Kashmiris to continue struggle against all odds

Kashmir main cause of sufferings of people in South Asia

New Delhi, February 18 (KMS): The veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will continue their peaceful liberation struggle till it reaches its logical conclusion, come what may.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in New Delhi castigated the occupation authorities for not allowing his party, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet, to hold a Seerat Conference in Islamabad town and arresting the party leader, Mir Hafeezullah. He said that the world human rights organisations should take cognisance of the fact that India was preventing the Kashmiris from organising religious gatherings.

Hurriyet leader, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, addressing a gathering in an area in Badgam said that India would have to give the Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination that it had promised before the international community.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, in a statement, said that Kashmir dispute had been the main cause of sufferings of the people living in South Asian region during the past over six decades.

On the other hand, forceful demonstrations continued for the second consecutive day in Lolab area of Kupwara against the death of a woman who died after being frightened on the entry of Indian police personnel in her house. The demonstrators demanded an independent probe into the incident.

At least 10 people were killed, today, when a vehicle, they were travelling in, was hit by a landslide at Khooni Nullah in Ramban on Srinagar-Jammu highway. The vehicle was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu.
