Srinagar, May 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt has emphasised that Kashmiris’ involvement in the talks process between India and Pakistan is imperative to bring about a just solution of the Kashmir dispute.

The senior leader was talking to the Kashmir Media Service this afternoon after a meeting of the APHC executive held in Srinagar with Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in chair. The meeting was also attended by Maulana Abbas Ansari, Bilal Ghani Lone, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Shaikh Abdul Aziz, Agha Syed Hasan Al-Moosvi and Fazl Haq Qureshi.

Professor Abdul Ghani Butt said that peace and stability would remain elusive in South Asia till the Kashmir dispute was resolved in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations.

Addressing a peace conference in New Delhi, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik deplored that the presence of seven hundred thousand Indian troops in the occupied territory had made Kashmiris’ life miserable. He pointed out that the troops were stepping up human rights violations by every passing day to suppress the liberation movement.

Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one youth at Wanabal in Kupwara. The Indian police personnel subjected demonstrators to brute force who were protesting against the anti-people policies of the puppet regime outside the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar, today.
