Kashmir is a disputed territory: APHC

Srinagar, February 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has termed the statements of Indian Defence Minister AK Antony and National Conference leader, Farooq Abdullah as far from reality and said that Jammu and Kashmir was an internationally recognised dispute.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said: "Declaring Jammu and Kashmir as part of India will neither have any impact on the disputed nature of the region nor can such statements change historical reality."

The spokesman said there are resolutions with United Nations Charter, which provides legal basis for the disputed nature of the dispute. The spokesman said that due to the dispute, there was uncertainty in the region for last 65 years.

He said that the Hurriyet Conference wanted peaceful and amicable settlement of Kashmir dispute so that permanent peace in region could be established.
