International conference on Kashmir in London

London, June 30 (KMS): In London, the Kashmir Centre is organising an international Kashmir Conference titled “visions of peace” on Wednesday at the House of Commons.

Besides discussing the present situation in occupied Kashmir, the panellists will also hold deliberations on the ongoing peace process between Pakistan and India and its relevance to Kashmir dispute. Human rights situation in the occupied territory particularly recently discovered unmarked graves will also be discussed.

The Executive Director of Kashmir Centre London, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl said that the conference is being held at a time when the people of Jammu and Kashmir have risen in an open revolt against the policies of the occupying authorities for distorting their identity and aspirations. The renewed revolution is taking place in spite of the brutality of the occupation forces, he added.

Those addressing the different sessions include, Raja Zulqarnain Khan, the President AJK, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, the Executive Director of Kashmir Centre Washington, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, the Executive Director of Kashmir Centre Brussels, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, Wajid Shamas-ul-Hasan, the High Commissioner of Pakistan, Ola T lanke, the vice President of the Norwegian Parliament, John Cochnahan, the Chairman of working Group on Kashmir, Margaret Moran MP, Martin Salter MP, Paul Rowen MP, Peter Haine MP, Alexander Neil, Richard Bomey, Ved Basin, the Editor of Kashmir Times, Zahid Ghulam Mohammed, Irshad Mahmood, Ismail khan, Maulana Bostan Qadir, the Secretary General Kashmir International Co-ordination Committee, Mohammed Ghalib, Nazir Ahmed Qureshi  and Ali Shanwaz Khan.
