Indian troops use force on demonstrators, 9 Kashmiris injured

Srinagar, February 11 (KMS): In Srinagar nine Kashmiris where injured when Indian troops used brute force against the demonstrators demanding return of the mortal remains of prominent liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt.

People assembled at Maisuma near the JKLF headquarters and demanded the mortal remains of the Shaheed Leader, who was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on February 11 in 1984 for his significant  role in the liberation struggle.  Indian police and Paramilitary personnel fired teargas shell and used batons to disperse the protesters. 

Indian troops clashed with another group of protesters at Baramulla town. No one was however injured in the clash. Indian forces also used force against demonstrators in another parts of Srinagar, including Natipora, Safakadal and Qammerwari, Wednesday. »
