IHK JI expresses concern over detainees’ plight in jails

Srinagar, May 26 (KMS): The Jamat-e-Islami (JI) of occupied Kashmir has expressed serious concern over the plight of illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyet leaders and activists languishing in various jails.

The JI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Kashmiri detainees were being treated inhumanly in jails of the territory, which was open violation of the international law.

He said that Superintendent of the Kot Bhalwal Jail, Rajni Sehgal had usurped all the fundamental rights of the detainees, which was injustice. He also condemned the re-imposition of draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA) against illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and other Hurriyet leaders and activists and demanded their immediate release.
