200 vehicles damaged, drivers, passengers thrashed

Jammu, Aug 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the 300 kilometre long Jammu-Srinagar highway, the only road link connecting Kashmir with rest of the world, has become out of bound for Kashmiris as they are being targeted by Indian fanatics at various place along the road in Udhampur district.

Eyewitnesses told mediamen that more than two hundred vehicles, particular having registration number from Kashmir valley, have been damaged, fired up and scores of drivers and passengers have been thrashed by the extremists of Shiv Sena, NJP, BJP, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Praja Parishad and Banjrag Dal on the highway between Chenani and Nandni, adding that these extremists were hiding themselves nearby areas of the highway.

"We were coming towards Jammu when around fifty Hindu extremists came out from behind the bushes and showered bricks and stones on our vehicles near Jagerkotli and damaged most of the Vehicles", Fayaz, a driver of the vehicle said.

Ghulam Rasool, a driver of Budgam, said that his Tata Sumo was completely destroyed by Hindu extremists near Udhampur when he was on his way to Jammu, adding that he was not the only target of the fanatic mobs but most of the passenger vehicles coming from and going to Kashmir and Doda were being targeted.

The passenger vehicles were damaged while some of the passengers were thrashed near channini.

The extremist also damaged passenger vehicles and thrashed passengers near Channani. They also set ablaze several residential houses of Muslim community and 15 hutments of Gujjars in Samba district. The hooligans barged into the houses and ransacked the house goods, said a resident of Samba. In Mendhar tehsil the members of Shiv Sanaks also harassed Muslim community.
