IHK High Court orders Mussarrat’s release

Srinagar, May 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has quashed the detention orders of Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Mussarrat Alam Butt, and directed the puppet administration to release him forthwith.

Mussarrat Alam Butt was detained for the second time under Public Safety Act (PSA) on January 1 this year. Earlier he was detained under PSA on the order of District Magistrate Srinagar in April last year, however the court had quashed the detention orders at that time.

Mussarrat challenged the order through his counsel Mian Abdul Qayoom, who maintained that thedistrict administration had passed a fresh order of detention without revoking the earlier one.

After hearing the arguments from the council and prosecution, Justice Hakeem Imtiyaz Hussain in his judgment quashed the detention of the Hurriyet leader and directed the puppet regime to release him immediately.
