Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has decided to monitor investigation of a case involving the notorious Indian agent turned politician, Papa Kishtiwari who has been charged with murder of several people.
The Court gave this ruling in a case filed by Zahoor Ahmad Mir through his counsel Pervez Imroz. The petitioner Zahoor says that in 1996 his father, Ali Muhammad Mir was picked up by Kishtiwari and later subjected to custodial disappearance. He added that Kishtwari killed his father after his abduction.
The Court directed the concerned investigating officer to report about progress of the investigation to the court.
Imroz said that last year a single bench of Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain directed the puppet administration to complete the investigation in a specified period of time. However the investigation was not completed. In the previous hearing, Pervez Imroz had expressed apprehension that the investigation was hampered due to political interference. He further said, the police is yet to file a charge sheet against Kishtiwari though he has been in jail for the past one year.
