IHK HCBA vows to press for int’l probe into Shopian case

Srinagar, December 19 (KMS): The High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir has said that it will continue to press for international probe into the Shopian double rape and murder incident.

The President of the Bar Association, Mian Abdul Qayoom in a media interview in Srinagar said that the Central Bureau of Investigation in its report had shielded the real culprits. The lawyers would not keep quiet till they exposed the perpetrators, he added.

Mian Qayoom said that the Bar would fight in and outside the court against the false and fabricated script by the CBI. He said the puppet Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, his minister Ali Muhammad Sagar, former Divisional Commissioner, Masood Samoon, the then IGP, Dr B Srinivas and the then Superintendent of Police of Shopian Javid Iqbal Matoo were the key conspirators of the cover-up operation of the CBI.

The Bar President said, “When the investigations were yet to be started and FIR yet to be lodged, the puppet chief minister had ruled out rape and murder of two women and termed it drowning incident.”

Terming the CBI report as a drama, Mian Abdul Qayoom said, “The CBI in its report claimed that no injuries were found on bodies of the two women.” But the Bar team visited the scene of crime and stated in its report that there were clear marks of tying on the hands and the arms of the two women, he added.

Questioning the credibility of post-mortem report prepared by the CBI, Mian Abdul Qayoom said, “If bodies are exhumed after four and a half months, the injury marks will not be preserved. I have the report by Dr Sudhir Gupta from Forensic Science Department of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), who has questioned the validity of the examination done after four and half months.” »
